The Landscape

Podere Campo del Piano is located a few minutes aways from the stunning Civita di Bagnoregio (UNESCO heritage list candidate). Less than 30 minutes away from the property, guests can discover Orvieto, with its Duomo and its heritage and craft shops; or Viterbo (also known as the “City of the Popes”) with its spa and thermal resorts; or the Lake of Bolsena and its clean water.

For outdoor lovers, worth mentioning the WWF natural reserves in the area, coupled with a network of hiking paths and trails running through the beautiful and ever-changing landscapes.

History

The territory bursts with historical sites, hard to boil down on a short list. Just to mention some of the most beautiful: the Chapel of the Madonna di San Brizio or the Orvieto Underground in Orvieto; the Medieval Quarter or the Palace of the Popes in Viterbo, where the first “Conclave” in the history of the Catholic Church took place in 1270.

Among many stunning archeological sites, not to be missed: Crocefisso del Tufo Necropolis in Orvieto; Castel d’Asso in Viterbo; the National Etruscan Museum in Tarquinia; the Monterozzi necropolis.
